The Home Hub Multimedia concept centralises the control of all your home media to create an intelligent source. This can be limited, initially, to telephone, television, DVD and Internet services. However you have the potential to add CCTV, front door access video, lighting, heating and electrical appliance controls. This can also be extended to add your own Web enabled central server for external access to your controls and data storage of for example family photos and videos.

At the simplest level all Television, Telephone and Internet services to the home are directed to a central cabinet, normally contained in a cupboard. From this Hub each service is then distributed to various points throughout the home.

Centralising 35 channels of high resolution TV, Hi Fi sytems and DVDs with Blu-Ray capability will maximise the potential from your multi-room, HD ready, flat screen TVs and wall/ceiling mounted speakers. Now add to that being able to access your computer network, viewing CCTV images including who is at the door, controlling your lighting, heating and electrical appliances and you get an idea of the potential for creating your own intelligent house.

Home networks are rapidly becoming more popular, as people begin to realise the abilities of the internet and sharing photos, music and video from anywhere, whether your family are at home, or away. 

Families are also increasingly reliant upon computers to store their photos, music and movies. We install a central PC that your family can easily access and add to, whether they are at home or away, securely via the internet. Everything can be stored here, so your information is always available at the click of a button. In addition you can access this system on TVs around the house, allowing you to set up slideshows, listen to your music or watch films whichever room you’re in.

The cabling we use for these installations is Cat6, originally developed as commercial data cable because of its ability to transmit an incredible amount of information very quickly. All aspects of entertainment media can be distributed using Cat6. An individual cable can easily have its use changed, simply by swapping the end plug over.

Cat6 is the cabling of the Digital era, and we advise all developers and house builders to install it should they have the opportunity, as it is a very cost effective way of ensuring you are ready for the technology of tomorrow.
