| A popular choice in today’s households is the ability to watch Freeview, Sky or even a DVD in many rooms around the house. The majority of houses already have an aerial point in each room, these can be utilised without running any new cables.
Many people have a Sky, Sky + or HD box in the lounge, but not so many realise that this box can be set up to be viewed from other rooms as well, and even controlled via an inexpensive device called a magic eye. This plugs in behind the TV in the other room(s) and allows you to control and view the Sky box as it you are sitting in front of it, all without paying a multiroom subscription.
Flatscreen TVs, although they may state they are 'HD ready', still need special High Definition material sent to them from other equipment. Without this, you are not getting anywhere near the capabilities of the screen. Most of our multi-room installs are now based around High Definition TVs, allowing for up to 35 channels of high resolution TV and Blu-Ray DVDs to be viewed around the house.
In the same manner, a DVD player can be set up so that you can watch it and control it around the house, allowing you freedom to watch what you want, where you want.
Most people have their main Hi-fi in the lounge. This can also be linked through to other parts of the house such as the kitchen, allowing you to listen to music via speakers which can be mounted in the ceiling or walls, so there is no unsightly wiring or loss of workspace. A volume control can be installed on the wall, locally. So, no need to go all the way to the lounge to turn up the volume when your favourite song comes!
The internet today is at the core of entertainment in the home. Wi-Fi is commonly relied upon to send the internet signal around the house, but this technology often develops problems, and does not transmit as fast as is possible.
The optimal way to access the internet securely is by using a data point in each room in which you would like a reliable, fast internet connection. You can improve performance by 15 times over Wi-Fi. This is as straight forward as running a telephone extension socket, as the cable used is very similar
